Hello!
I am french and I researched for a long time historical books about Mesoamerica and I found you!
I would like know if I can buy books of Rise of the aztecs without amazon? Because is horrible for our planet and I can’t help to destroy it.
A great evening!
Samuel.D
Hi Samuel,
I completely understand your reluctance to use Amazon, and I wish I had an option to send you a copy of any of my books in any other way. When I have any such option, I’ll do it gladly.
All the best for now,
Zoe
Hello! I’m a big fan of your books, especially those on Mesoamerica. I want to ask if it is possible to find your books from the Pre-Aztec series. I searched a lot and found only kindle editions. It would be nice to have them in hand, I like to hold a book more than to hold a phone or a tablet. If it’s possible I would like to purchase those if you still have some or you know a place from where I can order them. Thank you for your great and beautiful work! Best regards!
Hi Andrei,
After our communication through Facebook and emails, I forgot that I didn’t answer you here. So sorry about that!
I hope you managed to receive the copies of the Pre-Aztec series I sent you through Amazon in the end 🙂
Yours,
Zoe
Hi!
I’m writing a work of creative fiction inspired in part by ancient sports and athletics. While I was researching Mesoamerican sports (Specifically Pok Ta Pok), I found your website. I was impressed by the in-depth discussion of the culture of ancient Mexico. I specifically liked the discussion about the Toltec’s limited use of the wheel. I am interested in reading your books, but I don’t know where to start. Do any of your works specifically involve sports or Pok Ta Pok? I look forward to reading them!
Hi,
First of all, thank you for your interest, and for taking your time to browse through my website 🙂
I’m fascinated by Pok Ta Pok game as well, even though i did not research it yet in particular, having spent decades researching pre contact Central Mexico, and not the south east of the Maya People.
So, as my books are set in pre-contact Central Mexico, the game that is featured in some of them at times is a bit different but of a similar nature. It is called ullama or ullamaliztli (in Nahuatl, the prevalent indigenous language of Central Mexico), while Pok Ta Pok to my knowledge is the name of the game in one of the Maya languages…
I believe the series that feature the Mesoamerican ballgame the most is “The Rise of the Aztecs” series, the seventh book in particular :)👍
And of course I would love to discuss both games, their possible differences and similarities with you, if you want to. We can move this discussion to emails too.
All the best,
Zoe
